Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SwimWorkoutData (the "App"), developed by Peter Szots, handles information when you use the App, visit its website, or contact the developer.

Apple Health Data

With your permission, the App reads swimming workout information from Apple Health through HealthKit. The information used by the App includes:

  • Swimming stroke style
  • Workout date
  • Swimming distance
  • Workout duration
  • Calories burned
  • Stroke count
  • Pool length

The App uses this information only to display and analyse your swimming workouts and provide swimming statistics. Available information depends on what was recorded in Apple Health and the access you allow.

On-Device Processing and Storage

Your swimming workout information is processed on your device. The App does not keep a separate persistent copy of your health data, upload it to a server, or send it to the developer or third parties. The developer cannot access your Apple Health records.

Your original workout records remain in Apple Health and are managed through Apple Health and your Apple settings. The App does not create its own cloud backup of these records.

Permissions and Your Choices

You choose whether to allow access to Apple Health data through Apple's permission controls. The App requests read access for its swimming workout features and does not write, modify, or delete your Apple Health records.

You can refuse access or revoke it at any time in Apple Health or iOS Settings. Without the relevant permissions, features that depend on that information may be unavailable or show incomplete results. Revoking access prevents further reading of the affected data. Uninstalling the App does not delete workouts stored in Apple Health; you can manage or delete those records in Apple Health.

Analytics, Advertising and Sharing

The App does not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, IP addresses, or location information for the developer. It does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services that send information from the App to the developer or other providers.

Your health data is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, marketing, tracking, or profiling for those purposes.

Website

The App's website, including this Privacy Policy, is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit the website, GitHub receives technical information needed to serve and secure it. GitHub states that it logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. This website activity is separate from the App's on-device processing of Apple Health data.

Contacting the Developer

If you email the developer, your email address and the information you include in your message are processed to respond to your request and provide support. Please do not include health records or other sensitive information unless necessary for your request.

Peter Szots is responsible for handling this correspondence. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and providing support. Correspondence is handled through Gmail, provided by Google, and may be processed outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards applicable to that service. See Google's Privacy Policy for information about its practices.

Support correspondence is deleted within 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Your Privacy Rights

The developer does not receive or store your Apple Health data and cannot access, correct, or delete your Health records on your behalf. You can manage these records and revoke the App’s access in Apple Health or iOS Settings.

If you contact the developer by email, your email address and message are processed to respond to your enquiry. Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing of this information, or object to its processing, by emailing peter.design.code@gmail.com. Requests are normally answered within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).

Security

The App uses Apple's HealthKit permission system to access health information on your device. Keep your device and operating system up to date and protect your device with an appropriate passcode. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App or applicable requirements. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date. If a change requires new permission or consent, it will be requested before the relevant processing begins.
